About the Firm.

Harman Electronics opened shop in New Delhi in 1974. The goal was simple: make PA equipment that sounds good and doesn't fall apart after six months. We've been at it for over fifty years now, and the product line has grown quite a bit, but the way we work hasn't changed much.

We manufacture under the UNIVOX brand. Amplifiers, conference systems, microphones, speakers, megaphones, mixing consoles — all of it comes off our own production line. We source our own components, handle quality control in-house, and test each unit before it leaves the works.

1974

Workshop opens in New Delhi. First UNIVOX amplifiers ship to schools and railway PA installations.

1989

Product line expands to centralised sound systems. In-house component sourcing established.

2003

Authorised dealer network spreads across Delhi, Chandigarh, Hyderabad and Bengaluru.

Today

Twelve product categories. Every unit tested before it leaves the production line.

Three principles.

Set down at the founding, still followed. Five decades in the trade leave little room for shortcuts.

Built for Indian conditions.

Heat, humidity, voltage swings, rough handling. Industrial-grade components throughout. We do not use cheap parts, because cheap parts make for short-lived gear.

AC and DC, both.

Most amplifiers run on both. A dead amp at a railway announcement system or during a school function is a problem we'd rather not create.

Authorised dealers across Delhi, Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and several other cities. If something needs fixing, there is someone local to sort it out.
